my mom and cousin both had 2 girls and 1 boy and they both said that the boy's heartbeats were slower than the girls.

I am due Feb 28th and just heard the heartbeat for the first time on Wednesday. We are hoping for a boy and the heartbeat was 150bpm. My friend said it was probably a girl, but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

It is said that a boy heart rate is anything below 140 and a girls is anything above. However this is just another old wives tail. Scientist are now believing that heart doesn't have anything to do with the sex of the baby until birth. They are finding that girls heart rates seem to be faster at birth then girl.

My son through my entire pregnancy had a heart rate in the 150s. At birth it lingers around 141.

At ten weeks the heart rate was 166. At my ultrasound at 17 weeks the heart rate was 152 and we found out it is a girl! So, I've read that there is not much truth to the heart rate theory, it's about 50/50 at being accurate. Both times for my pregnancies the heart rate has been above 140 and it's been girls, so it's proven right for me I guess.

Do not base anything on heart beat it drove me crazy I have 2 boys and 1 girl and I am on my fourth and really wanted a girl my body my mood everything made me feel it was a girl... then 2 days ago I went in and saw my doctor who took the heart beat and it was 135 the last visit it was 130 and she was like sounds like you are having a boy. I was thrown off because I felt it was a girl so today I went and got an ultrasound (17wks) and even the lady who did it before starting the ultrasound said the heart beat is 80 % true.. so I was prepared for a boy and sure enough IT IS a GIRL!....

It's an old wives tale that the rate will tell you which sex the baby is.

At my doctors appts for my first son the average heartbeat rate was between 150 and 155....... I am 22 weeks pregnant on baby boy #2 and so far the average heartbeat is around 145... so really I am not so sure you can determine babys sex by heart rate.

When I went to my 16 weeks appt. the heartrate was in the 130's and the midwife told me " that was the heartrate of a boy", however at my 20 week ultrasound, we found out we are having a girl. Her heartrate has been consistantly in the 130's
