| I think its wonderful for gay couples to have children. I grew up in a lesbian home with my mother being lesbian and my older sister too. I loved having 2 moms it was great. Even with all the crap i got from peers I do not regret growing up with a lesbian mother she did so much for me and for those who like to judge well I have to say i got more love from my mothers lesbian and gay friends then from my mothers straight couple friends. | I have been searching for a forum or lesbian mothers group all day! Finally! Hi! MY partener and I are in the foster-to-adopt process right now! Its wonderful! We've been talking about adopting, insemination, surrogate mother..all the ways to do it. But infant twins just seem to fall into our laps. They are part of my parteners family ~ the parents of the babies are incarserated and she was named as the guardian to adopt; but we have to foster them during all the court dates and paper work - which can last over a year. But we are still very happy to have them now. My partener and I have talked about kids since we got engaged 3 years ago. And since we're in NY there is so many posiblities, so we were very excited! Thanks for getting back. I just finally read the conversations here....wow..some people can really be closeminded! Unbelievable...now I know why you think we shouldnt have support discussions here. So sad though.
Congrats on being prego again! I cant wait to have my own...although I love my twins. And they love us! My parteners family is unbelievably supportive and has spoiled us beyond belief. Her mom and dad want us to have a comittment ceremony next year. Have you guys done this? ↑ |

6 years in November! Crazy huh..we've been together since I was a sophmore in college. A love at first site thing. Yea, we actually set a date for this year but cancelled it last fall when we knew we were getting the girls. The adopting was an emergency situation so it happened so fast. We had to pick one or the other. So we decided to hold off the ceremony. It's not that important to us to do the whole marriage thing before the kids. ...especially since the babies just kinda fell into our laps.
We had picked out his beautiful place in Connecticut to have the ceremony; outside by a lake. Lily Lake Inn - you should check it out..its so pretty up there. And they are very gay friendly.

Friday night we just hung in and watched movies...gotta have those relaxing nights. And yesterday was a yucky rainy day and our plans to take the girls to see my rugby club play was cancelled. April showers....have kept the girls inside too much. They have never played outside yet, so we cant wait till it's nice and warm. I bet its nice where you are, huh?
