no dou you not understand my question i love my dog but i just want to know if his weight is good for his hold (7.5kg 3 month)

Yoyo your dogs parents are HUGE. I can't say your dog is in great shape for his age without viewing a picture but the weight sounds about right if he is a younger 3 mo. old.

I have three kids and a male pit that is 3 years old. I love him but i never leave my kids alone in the same room. Not because he is a danger to them but because kids are kids and dogs are dogs. I never let the girls bring there friends over till the parents have talked to me about Tyson (my dog). I asure them the children are safe because I keep him put up while they are in the house. Talk to the parents I wont let my kids play with other dogs either. you cant predict what a animal will do but you can prevent what they are capable of.

no you shouldn't let your pitbull go if you have to you can build a cheap little kennel for him when the kids go over to your house to play....you can build an easy kennel for under 50 bucks.

No. Dont get rid or your dog because its a pit bull. Get your dog acustume to people. Pit Bulls are very intellegant and hardly forget a thing. The more you keep him/her away from other people, the more it'll think it's doing the right thing to attack or alarm someone. Kid or not. Lets not forget that pit bulls are very territorial. It only comes natural.

WE HAVE HAD PITS FOR 14YRS . I WAS PREGNANT AROUND THEM THEY WERE IN THE HOUSE WITH ME AND MY BABIES.
NEVER DID THEY SHOW ANY SIGNS OF AGGRESSION OR JELOUSY. THEY WILLING STEPPED ASIDE FOR THE NEW BABY. MY DAUGHTER USED HIM AS A STEP STOOL TO GET ON THE COACH WHEN OR MALE WAS 11YRS OLD, BLIND AND ON HIS WAY OUT HE NEVER FLINCHED.
NOW THIS IS THE SAME PIT WHOS PARENTS CAME FROM PIT FIGHTING. HE WAS NEVER FOUGHT BUT YOU COME NEAR ME AND THE GIRLS AND HE WOULD TELL YOU BACK OFF. HE LISTENED ALWAYS. BEST DOG FOR KIDS OF ANY AGE. YOU CANT HURT THEM ,SO THEY DONT SNAP AT KIDS. DOGS THAT BITE KIDS ARE NORMALLY BITING FROM PAIN .
YOU CAOME IN MY HOUSE AND GET TOO CLOSE TO THE KIDS THE DOG WILL PUT HIMSELF IN BETWEEN YOU, OR HE WILL GROWL TO MAKE YOU BACK AWAY . IF THEY CRY HE GOES AND GETS THERE TOYS TO CALM THEM. IF THEY SCREAM OUTSIDE HE CRIES AT THE DOOR TO BE LET OUT. WE ASK HIM WHERES THE GIRLS HE CLAWS THE DOOR AND WHINES HE KNOWS THATS HIS JOB TO KEEP THEM SAFE. HE LOVES TO BE KISSED AND HUGGED HE TRIES TO SIT IN MY LAP AT 115LBS 23IN TALL. I LOVE THE BREED. BAD DOGS COME FROM BAD OWNERS THEY WERE TRAINED TO BE AGGRESSIVE ... NOW TO OTHER ANIMALS LOOK OUT.

I live in south Everett Washington. I have a very sweet loving large stafford terrior. She is two years old. She is great with kids. I have four children ranging from 2yrs.-11yrs.old. I have had her for ayear now. I rescued her from a bad situation. I do not have the time she needs from a person to give her. She is very energetic and needs lots of attention. If you are interested in giving her the time she diserves. Please respond on this site only if you are truely seriuos.

Name: Arnold | Date: Nov 4th, 2006 2:53 AM
no you shouldn't let him/her go just because your kids and family are afraid of him/her. you should train her to be real calm when kids are around infront of you.

Name: richc | Date: Nov 9th, 2006 1:41 AM
lol this is very simple, do u think you dog would leave you in some messed up situation just leave you in a strange place with strange people? Why would you get rid of a perfectly good dog if the only thing is you kids freinds parents thats their problem if they cant accept things for what they are. If a human would be the one being steriotyped it would be a crime...

If you own a pitbull you are going to encounter this problem whether the dog is aggressive or not, because the parents of your kids friends, dont want to take the chance because it is the amount of damage these dogs do that scares people.

I KNOW, I would NEVER leave or let my child play at a household where a Pitbull, Rottweiler, German Shepard was kept. If you want your child to have friends over, you need to get rid of the dog.

No one should be scared of a pit bull. No you should not get rid of your pit bull. I have one and i can tell you they are good natured dogs just by knowing mine. I have a kitten that my pit bull sleeps with every night i dont think they will hurt anyone unless that is how they are raised, as long as you raised your pit bull in a good and loving enviroment and did not try to teach it bad things than your pit bull will be very loving a gentle towrads everyone.

Hello All,
My name is David.Well the reason that I'm writing this is because
I have read a very negative peice written about the A.P.B.T.,and it breaks my heart.Let me start with the facts.Pitbulls were bred for many purposes such as bear and bull bait. Then bred for fighting, but like any other dog or most I should say were bred for specific purposes. If you look at the history of different breeds you will see they all served a purpose.I can understand how people can fear this specific breed, but please people understand not all pitbulls are bred to be vicious. It is unfair!!! Let me start with the facts . I am a single father of two boys the oldest being twelve and youngest ten.I have had them since my children have been in pampers. Owned not one but two pitbulls that i saved from a shelter due to neglect and mistreatment. These dogs have been nothing but loyal and faithful to me and my children.I have read in a forum on this web site from one woman that claims these dogs are vicious by nature and she pretty much goes on to state that there is no hope for the breed and that it is a macho thing for a person to own a pitbull.Well for you my lady I am here to state some facts. You have been totally misinformed.Pitbulls are one of the most loyal of breeds. If treated right they will thrive in a family oriented enviorment, just like any dog they have to be trained properly.I take my dogs to the dog park located here in Arizona where I have lived and not once in the 8 years that I have had them ever ever had any problems with other dogs or small animals for that matter nor humans. If these dogs are treated right and trained properly they can be and will be the best pet a man or woman can ask for. What breaks my heart is the fact that so many are being killed each day because of irresponsible owners and breeders that are giving these dogs a bad rep,and it's people like you who know nothing about the breed except from what's heard on T.V. or newspapers giving these dogs bad publicity.Sure there have been pitbull mawlings, but look at the facts.A lab is more likely to take a bite out of your child then a pitbull. So if you wanna crap on the pitbull then crap on the whole dog breed in general. Why blame a innocent animal? Punish the deed not the breed.Lets be fair k.Oh yeah and m.anne if your reading this never get rid of your dog,do you want it to go to a shelter or be put to death just because he or she is a pitbull?

I have the same problem. I have a happy family of five friendly dogs, then recently I rescued an abused pit bull who is soooo loving and grateful to me--but he aggresses against the other dogs. I am torn! It's the kind of thing that erupts in a minute, and I'm really scared of a murder. I can't bear to give the dog to the pound, as they usually kill pit bulls anyway and he's been through enough. Any suggestions?

Name: melindakk | Date: Feb 3rd, 2007 1:34 AM
He looks adorable and innocent one moment, and the next moment a killer. It isn't the dogs fault--he's been abused but I can't chance him with my other five dogs. My nerves are on edge all the time. I will ask the vet to take him to heaven, and I'll make it a fun day for him. When I die I will see him in heaven.

I haven't read any replies to your original post so forgive me if I repeat anything that has already been mentioned.
Have you asked these children and their parents why they are scared? No breed of dog should be left alone with any children and I'm sure your vet would also tell you this.
I have a Golden Retreiver and she is very protective over me and my daughter. She has a great personality and is very good with children and adults. BUT my five yr old neighbour is very scared of her and he can't explain why, he just doesn't like her. When he comes round to play I make sure my dog is outside in the garden or downstairs in the basement.
I would still not leave my dog and daughter together alone though.

i have a 3yr old son and have had pitbulls and other dogs my whole life.... i was bit as a child by my doberman and by a mix breed.... yet never by any of my pitbulls.. and ive had way more pitbulls then any other breed.. to state true facts..( on a study of 100 diff breeds of dogs.. german sheperd is #1 dog to bite a person for no reason and rott , king poodle, coly, akita and the pitbull fell at 92 spot... ) also pitbulls DO NOT have the most powerfull bite... rotts, mastifs, german sheperd all thos r stronger then pits... the only diff that sets bull terriers apart is lock jaw.. all i have to say is DONT PUNISH THE BREED PUNISH THE DEED... banning pitbulls is like saying saying all arabs r terorists just cuz a couple r... now does that make sense??? NO ... but at the end of the day pitbulls r very loyal, protective of there family (BEING OWNER AND CHILDREN) what has your pitbull done to you for him to deserve being abondoned by his FAMILY !!!!

Is your dog agressive toward strangers? Or is everyone just scared of him? If everyone is just scared you need to educatethem and show how loving bullies can be.
